Why Crug?

Crug is my nickname

Consultants are well versed in always saying ‘we’ and never saying ‘me’. It’s supposed to make you look credible. I think it makes you look shifty.

Crug Consulting is just me. Craig Richards. One day that may change. But for the moment, you get me.

If you google Crug you’ll see it’s a Welsh word meaning barrow, cairn or hillock. When you google barrow, cairn or hillock you’ll see it means hills or piles of stones.

I’d like to be able to tell you I choose the name Crug because of a deeply profound meaning. Like together we’re going to climb hills and build things that last, one rock at a time.

But the reality is my family started calling me Crug instead of Craig because it sounded like a cave man. I’m happy to run with it because it’s a much cooler nickname than Richo or Craigo…and the domain name, trademark and business name were all wide open.
